I started working at Better Nails by Angel in March 2024 with very little knowledge and experience. I didn’t know how to do soft gel or how to properly use a nail drill. Because I was eager to learn, Ms. Angel personally trained me. Everything I know about soft gel started with her guidance. I made many mistakes during training, and learning was not easy—it felt like starting from the very beginning.

After more than a year at Better Nails by Angel, I can say that the daily challenges helped me grow stronger and more confident in my skills. I am deeply grateful to Ms. Angel, not only as a mentor, but for treating us like family. She has been there for me through my ups and downs, always showing patience, understanding, and support. Even the simplest blessings she gives mean so much to me.

We started as a small, studio-type home-based salon. Over time, the business grew, more nail technicians joined the team, and eventually, a new branch opened. This growth is a result of Ms. Angel’s hard work, dedication, and perseverance. I witnessed firsthand everything we went through to make the branch possible, and I’m thankful to be part of that journey.

Three years ago, I had my own home-based studio. I’ve always loved art and challenges—I even worked as a tattoo artist and ran a food business before focusing on nails.

As time passed, more nail techs appeared in our area, many offering very low prices. I never wanted to match those rates, but because of that, my clients decreased over the past months. Soon, I could no longer support my financial needs. Still, I didn’t want to give up my passion, so I decided to look for a job.

Luckily, I found Betternailsbyangel. Ms. Angel truly lived up to her name—she hired me, helped me continue my passion, trained me, and guided me until I earned my certification. She taught me so much, and I’m very grateful for her support.

I hope more people will trust us with their nails.

I learned how to do nails from my mother, who used her skills to support our family. When I was in Grade 6, I started going house-to-house in our neighborhood to do nails so I could earn money for my school allowance. As I grew older, got married, and had children, I continued working as a manicurist.

Eventually, I worked as a nail technician in Mandaluyong for six months, where I learned how to do soft gel extensions. I was encouraged to undergo training, and that’s how I became a certified nail technician. My friends even pushed me to compete and become an instructor—something I was scared to do at first, but later realized I was actually good at.

Since I needed to provide for my children, I decided to move to Manila to look for better opportunities. That’s when I discovered Better Nails by Angel. The staff and the owner were very kind, and the application process went smoothly. Soon after, I was hired as a Nail Technician.

My journey as a nail technician began during a visit to a Daiso shop in Japan, where I was inspired by the beautiful variety of nail polishes and accessories. The glittery, delicate charms and vibrant colors sparked my curiosity and creative interest in nail art.
What started as watching nail art videos on social media soon turned into a commitment to learn the craft professionally. I took a full month of training and realized that it’s never too late to learn a new skill or pursue a new career path.
Through Better Nails by Angel, I continue to challenge myself, refine my skills, and provide high-quality nail services with creativity, care, and passion. My goal is to help every client feel confident, beautiful, and well taken care of.

I enjoy watching movies and scrolling through TikTok, and I’ve always loved singing and dancing. Recently, I discovered a new passion—nail art. What started as a simple way to pass the time slowly turned into something I truly enjoyed. Before I knew it, it became a source of happiness and eventually my chosen career.

I was searching for a stepping stone, but instead, I found a place that feels like home—a space where I can be myself while doing what I love. Here at Betternailsbyangel, I’ve found both joy and purpose in my work.

Watching TikTok videos is what led me to become a nail technician. It was the art that inspired me — not the nails themselves — because I had no knowledge about nails back then.
All I ever wanted was to stop working under someone else and finally have full control of my time. That dream motivated me to pour my whole heart into my nail business.

Better Nails by Angel became more than just a home-based setup thanks to one nail tech who never stopped dreaming with me. Because of her, I had the opportunity to hire other women, work alongside them, and dream even bigger.

That’s how our salon was born — through passion, teamwork, and a dream we refused to let go of.
